Situation:
Gary Sullivan and Karol Brandt, owners of Scooter
Promotions, LLC. & promoters of the Steel Pony
Express Motorcycle Rally, approached Pixelstix with
the need to redesign their existing website.
Features that they wanted to include on the new site
were an online store & a database driven rally
registration application.
Objective:
To create an on-line experience that conveyed the
excitement of attending the Steel Pony Express rally
and to increase online rally registrations. An
emphasis was dedicated to making the website
accessible to the greatest possible audience.
Solution:
Pixelstix worked closely with the Scooter Promotions
to create a clean, professional graphic design that
allowed users to immediately view all sections of
the site at a glance and quickly locate desired
information. Pixelstix also developed a database
driven rally registration application with full back
end management utilities to administer both the
online and mail-in registrations. Pixelstix also
developed a full featured online store to promote
the many Steel Pony Express themed items.
Impact Results:
The Steel Pony Express website signed up over 10,000
registrations through the new rally registration
interface during the 2004 rally. Also, for the first
time in the rally’s history the staff of Scooter
Promotions went ‘paperless’ by processing all the
registrations through the online web interface.
The Steel Pony Express website continues to receive
several million hits per year.Client Comments:
"Pixelstix made it happen! We started Scooter
Promotions in 1998 so we could produce motorcycle
events here in New Orleans Louisiana. Steel Pony
Express™ is an outdoor event held on the grounds of
University of New Orleans Kiefer arena witch
features an array of vendors, attractions, national
and local bands. The Louisiana Bike Expo™ is an
indoor event held inside the Louisiana Superdome,
which features vendors, attractions, and a custom
bike competition. We built our first web site and it
was exciting to be on the World Wide Web. After a
couple of years we realized that our site was dull
and unattractive and we could not get much help from
our old Internet Service Provider (ISP). We
mentioned this to our friends John Walton & Steve
Johnson of the famed Walton & Johnson radio show and
they referred us to I-55. We called and spoke to Mr.
Chad Soileau and right away switched our ISP to
I-55. We knew this was the right move. Soon after he
mentioned they had Pixelstix a web site development
division, we knew we were making another change. The
staff at Pixelstix took our web site and brought it
to life. Interactive, informative and with great
animation. They created an on line registration form
in which our clients can purchase event packages,
tickets and apparel. They simplified our E-commerce
business and it has truly exploded with record
sales. Scooter Promotions highly recommends the
professional staff at Pixelstix!
